Good for you for getting your laundry done! I'm still procrastinating... I've been spoiled because the last few weeks I've brought it to my mom's and done it. I don't mind doing it, it's just the process of getting to that point of doing it... lol.

Sorry the boys got sick when they returned to school. I would suggest giving them a daily children's vitamin, it would probably help ward off germs too! Also, encourage them to wash their hands. That's the best way to stop germs from spreading.

My friends and I were OBSESSED with 90210 and Melrose Place! We would get together at each others places and watch 90210 (towards the end of the series) while we got ready to go to the bars! I dont' know about the new series....you just can't beat the original.

I watch Tori & Dean's show too and I love it too! They are so cute together. I liked 90210 also and they sometimes have repeats of it on the soap network... I was so amused watching it one day remember how obsessed I was.

Hey, what's that you were saying about your diary entry popping up on Google search?  Can they? What if we are semi-private!  I always worry about my students finding me online!

OMG - you know i teach literacy (reading, social studies and English).  Well, there is a story in our literature book called "Debbie". It is so much like the story you tell here.  A women had two dogs and didn't want anymore pets. Suddenly a stray named "Debbie" keeps coming around and won't leave her alone.  Finally, she feeds Debbie cause she's looking old and sick. Debbies soon comes back with a little kitten.  Debbie leaves the kitten with the lady and dies!  The lady keeps the kitten, and she and the dogs love the kitten! My students love "listening" to the story on tape.

Congrats on the weight loss!  That's awesome!  Mexican food is my weakness too!  My mom makes the best green chile with pork. I'm gonna have her make some while she's here - and let's not forget the homemade tortillas!

That's too funny about your husband.  My hubby is white too (he say's "Italian!") He goes into Mexican restaurants and tries out his VERY limited Spanish!  Mostly he just says "Muy bueno" to everything! LOL

RYC - since you can't have real Big Mac, here's a virtual cheesy burger for you! lol

I use Sparkpeople to calculate my calorie/fat/protein intake - all I did was enter my stats - tell them what I want to lose and they tell me how many calories etc I can have a day. I enter what I eat and it automatically tracks those things for me.  It's pretty cool - it lets me know if too many of my calories are coming from fat/carbs/protein too.

Oh, you know - our Wii does go onto the internet, but it's not very user friendly - Sarah can't get on Webkinz because of the applications needed.

Wow, I never thought of food cravings like an alcoholic wanting a drink - you are so right, that's exactly how it must be for alcoholics who can't say no to alcohol - I'm exactly that way with food.  You sound like you are doing so well on you plan!  Keep it up!

BTW - I didn't know you could play PS3 online.  How cool! We have a Wii - we don't play it as much as I thought we would. I do want to get the Wii fitness with the aerobics/yoga on it!

I totally understand the not feeling comfortable in your clothes - feeling fat and ugly.  I wish you lots of luck.  You and NBRIGGS are giving me some motivation to try and lose some weight here! I'm 5'8" and about 213!  Ideally I should be at 170 according to those weight charts, but I would settle for 190...that's 23 pounds!!! UGH!  Anyway - congrats on starting!!!!

LOL - My hubby loves my chicken enchiladas too, but I rarely make them because of the messy labor involved!  I can totally relate! ha-ha!

Oh my, it looks like he grew soooooo much between his 3rd and 4th birthday! What a wonderful idea to take the photos in the same place every year. I displayed a photo of J when he was newborn and then a recent one in a birthday balloon frame that someone gave me at his baby shower. On his first birthday I took a photo of him in his high chair but we don't have it anymore, so I guess that wouldn't work. Great idea though! 

Guess what? That laptop is the same one J has! It's the monkey screeching on the volume button that gets to me, but I'm sure your Gabi is old enough to know how to play the games! I can't wait til J figures it out. lol.

The oreo cake looks absolutely yummy yummy yummy.

Do you make your own enchilada sauce? Everytime I use the pre-packaged mixes for the sauce I'm disappointed in the flavor.

I'm glad your hubby stopped smoking. I know people have the right ot smoke if they want, but it just makes me sad cause my dad died from cancer caused by smoking.  And I know everyone is different too...my hubby's grandmother (now 90) has smoked Camels nonfiltered for probably 70 years and she doesn't have cancer...crazy!

Are you guys on year round school?  I have an uncle and aunt who teach in LA (Long Beach) - they go year round.

RYC - that's too funny - you try to avoid the heat and I looooong for it! You know, when I lived in Arizona, I hated the heat.  Then I moved here and realized how blessed I was in Arizona!!!!!  I HATE putting on layers of clothes and heavy coats, gloves, scarf and still FREEZE!!! Don't even get me started about driving in the snow and ice!!!LOL

Here's the recipe. I use 2 round cake pans (about half the batter in each) and stack the cake with some frosting in the middle instead of using a sheet cake like the directions say. Also I find that if I refrigerate the cake a few hours before serving it's especially yummy. Enjoy!

Sunshine Cake    

cake:

1 package moist yellow cake mix

4 eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 (11 ounce) can madarin oranges with juice

frosting:

1 (16 ounce) package frozen whipped topping thawed

1 (5 ounce) package INSTANT vanilla pudding

1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Beat eggs and add to cake mix. Add oil and mandarin oranges (with juice) to batter. Beat well. Pour batter into greased and floured  9x13 inch pan. Bake for 40 minutes at 325. COOL the cake.

While cake is baking prepare frosting by mixing together the whipped dessert topping, the instant vanilla pudding, and the crushed pineapple with it's juices. Put frosting in refrigerator to set. 

Frost cake when thoroughly cooled.

My husband loved that movie Apocalypto and still talks about wanting me to watch it. I refuse! I can't handle stuff like that. Give me Finding Nemo or Shrek or Mary Poppins, lol. 

I hope you end up getting the goldfish! They are pretty easy to take care of too and easily replaced if it dies!

May I suggest you play with the laptops and listen to all the sounds they make while in the store? Obviously my son is still young and doesn't completely understand the object of his laptop but the noises that come out of it DRIVE ME CRAZY. Especially when he pushes the same button over and over again. I doubt your Gabi would do that, but still, just a helpful hint from a sometimes crazy mama. lol.

My J turns 2 on Sunday. He's getting a beta fish and a big fish balloon from us for his birthday. (He loves fish.) The fish will be mine too... beta fish are pretty low matainance. I'm making his cake from a recipe I found on-line using a yellow cake mix... you mix  crushed pineapple in it and make the frosting with vanilla pudding mixed in cool-whip... it's so moist and yummy!

I hope your husband gets the job! Even if he doesn't, at least he's getting the interview process down pat.  

We have a 2 laundry rooms at our apartment complex... one in the middle of one set of buildings and the other in the the middle of the other set. There's 10 washers and 10 dryers per room and signs up all over the place not to run them all at once, but no one pays attention on busy days. Luckily I've never run into a problem of anyone blowing a fuse. The rooms are open 24hrs/day which is nice, but I've never been past having my last load done around midnight... And it's pretty empty then. It's only  75 cents for wash, $1 for dry... But it's quarters, so we have to remember to get our quarters set for laundry day! I've been doing some at my mother's though, so that's been nice.

Do you limit your kids tv time or only games?
